What patients say
4,806 on GoogleHad a good experience with Dr. Agarwal's eye hospital. The staff and the doctors explained everything in detail and made sure we understand the procedures before proceeding. Thank you!.
Dr. Kala Devi has done cataract surgery for my mother and my grandmother perfectly without any issues. I would recommend to visit Dr. Agarwal eye hospital for any eye related issues. Mrs. Abilasha is very kind and provided the instructions to the patients and guided them clearly.
NOT Recommended at ALL!! Extremely Poor Service!! I wanted an appointment for regular power eye check up 1. When I called to book appointment I was told for 12:30 noon appointment reach by 12 as some tests are done which is fine ; I reached at exact 12 2. While confining it was not informed that appointment is not needed as it’s first come first serve basis which means wait for your turn which took me couple of hours and frustration as this should have been informed so that I could accordingly plan my day at work. Thinking 12:30 I shall be called in is what was on mind 3. After reading check up trying various glasses again wait until you are called depending how many patients are waiting in queue and the count was in 20-30 3. The doctor was not that great and that’s what disappointed me more- I had simple dumb questions to which her tone had annoyance and asked if your sight is okay why couldn’t you read properly while testing - Dr opposite to cabin no 12 -Please note it was not argumentative - I just put across simple questions for my understanding. 4. She says will check retina dilation which shall take 1-2 hours and after that blurness for 3-4 hours - I said I’m working today - so just took some time off - Her reaction was that I could come again whenever convenient but her tone , her attitude , the way she was sitting not at all pleasant. 5. All that just put me off thinking could have gone to some other doctors who are professional and donot take annoyance in tone when dumb questions asked. 6. Prescription suggested lenses per eye number - I tried at their store only but found too expensive so thought of leaving moreso I was just so irate with overall experience.l so unsure if they were just expensive or was it my experience also adding to it. Better to visit any optometrist at clinics who give real appointments and not like hidden to first say you can come at this time and when you go you are told it’s first come first serve so now wait until called for.
I am extremely disappointed with the experience we had at Dr Agarwal Eye Hospital, Porur branch on 24 January 2026. We reached the hospital around 11:30 AM and took an appointment from the ground floor reception. After that, the real struggle began. On the first floor, there were many patients waiting, but the reception staff there were completely unresponsive. When we politely asked about the queue number and how the system worked, they ignored us and did not provide any guidance. After waiting nearly 2 hours, my mother’s name was called. We assumed the doctor would see her, but instead they began a series of “preliminary checks.” These tests may not cost money, but they cost your entire day and mental peace. We kept waiting and waiting with no proper communication. After 3–4 more hours, they finally started the lacrimal syringing procedure for my mother (she has had a watering eye problem for 3–4 years). Shockingly, such an important and sensitive eye procedure was handled by nurses/assistants. It did not feel like it was being done under proper specialist supervision. The procedure was attempted 4–5 times and failed, causing visible discomfort. After that, no clear explanation was given. We were again left waiting. Later, a nurse casually told us to go to their main branch for specialist consultation — after wasting our entire day there! Now my mother has eye pain after the procedure. We did 3 tests and 1 procedure, yet we were not given proper signed reports or a detailed prescription. Only some printed sheets were given, not final reports with a doctor’s signature. This is very concerning. When we pay in a corporate hospital, we expect: Clear communication Qualified doctor involvement in procedures Proper documentation Patient safety and care Instead, we experienced poor coordination, long unexplained waiting, lack of transparency, and no proper post-procedure care instructions. I strongly feel this branch is mismanaged. Please think carefully before visiting, especially for elderly patients or sensitive eye procedures.
