I recently accompanied my friend for their cancer treatment, and it was quite an eye-opening experience. From the moment we arrived at the treatment center, I could see the level of care and compassion they provided. The staff was welcoming and took the time to explain each step of the process, which helped ease a lot of anxiety. The treatment itself was tough, but the environment was surprisingly calm and supportive. They offered refreshments and had cozy waiting areas with comfortable seating. I noticed that many patients were chatting and finding comfort in each other, which created a sense of community. My friend’s medical team was incredibly attentive, checking in frequently to see how they were handling everything. They took time to answer questions and genuinely cared about my friend's emotional well-being as much as the physical aspects of treatment. It made a huge difference to see how dedicated they were. I believe what stood out most was how they focused on not just the treatment but also on helping patients stay positive. There were support groups and counseling available, which really seemed to help my friend. Overall, though cancer treatment is never easy, the kindness and professionalism shown made a challenging situation more bearable. If anyone is facing something similar, I encourage you to lean on the support around you; it can make all the difference. Dr. Kalaichelvi is one of the most ignorant doctors that I have ever seen in my life. It is even more pathetic that she’s a well renowned oncologist in the city. She does not care about the patient. She hardly visits the hospital. She does a quick 20 mins visit in the morning to see her patients and leaves. My mother had stage 4 breast cancer and with Kalaichelvi’s treatment she had major side effects and all of them were IGNORED. After her 2nd cycle she had sepsis, which is a major infection that can be fatal with severe rigors(shivers) and doctor suggested she take a basic Avil injection. We realised it was a major infection only once another doctors next to our house who we visit regularly suggested. Then we took infection test and found she had this and got that treated by antibiotics. My humble request. Please don’t go to this hospital for any cancer treatment. Their entire team is just a show and not organised. I can go on talking about how bad their administration is too. They don’t even know what they are treating mom for. Kalaichelvi will visit in the morning at 10 and prescribe a medicine. And leave, then another duty doctor with hardly any real life experience will come and ask us if we want that suggested medicine or injection to be administered. How are we gonna know if it’s needed or no, if it’s needed they should give it to mom right. It’s really bad. I lost my mom sooner than she would’ve left us purely because of the negligence of this hospital, their staff and dr kalaichelvi. All she cares about is if the patient has insurance or no, if we have insurance, she will Charge 10k per visit, otherwise if people are paying money out of pocket, she will charge 3k. She even prescribed my mother for immunotherapy. One of the biggest shocks was the immunotherapy drug pembrolizumab. We were never clearly informed beforehand that each cycle would cost around ₹2.2 lakhs. We only realized the actual cost after the treatment had already started. Later we learned that this drug usually works only if a certain protein marker is present in the tumor, but no such test was done. Later when questioned. She carelessly said, this is all not required as she anyways cannot be cured and that we are doing this is as last resort just for our satisfaction. Lastly, I just wanna say, please don’t go to this hospital thinking it’s not fancy and can be light on pocket. It’s pathetic and ignorant. Kalaichelvi is the worst oncologist or even a doctor in the first place

Dr. Kalaichelvi’s follow‑up and review of treatment have been disappointing in recent visits. She did not seem concerned about the side effects being experienced and was not receptive to what the patient wanted to share.Although the initial treatment was done at Dr. Rai Memorial, we decided to move to another hospital because of what felt like a lethargic attitude and lack of attentive listening from her side. We are now consulting a different doctor who listens carefully and plans treatment in line with the patient’s concerns.For doctors, each patient may be just one among many, but for us, the doctor is often our only hope, and we travel from different cities and districts with that trust. When a doctor does not listen to our pain, collects a fee of 1000 even without a proper receipt, and seems focused only on the consultation charge, it becomes difficult to continue with such care.This is not a recommendation or suggestion to others but simply my personal experience and feedback about the service. Dr. Rai is very good for consulting.
