I am sharing this feedback because there is no option to give a zero-star review, and unfortunately, our experience at Midas Hospital, Nagpur, was extremely disappointing. Our journey began with an endoscopy and biopsy, which revealed that our father was diagnosed with stomach cancer (Gastric biopsy: fragmented biopsy shows features suggestive of poorly differentiated carcinoma with signet ring cell morphology, grade II). Based on advice from a local doctor, we were misled into going to Midas Nagpur, claiming it was a specialist hospital for this disease. Traveling approximately 400 km from our hometown, Sagar, MP, over an 8-hour drive, we quickly realized that this was not a dedicated cancer hospital. Nevertheless, we decided to consult here before moving to our backup plan, HCG Cancer Hospital, hoping that we might get guidance for treatment. We reached the hospital at 6 AM, as appointments cannot be scheduled over the phone. Upon arrival, we were told that the counters would open at 8 AM. While this information was delivered in a rude and abrupt manner, we ignored it and patiently waited. When the counters finally opened, there was no organized system. Patients were essentially competing to get KYC forms, and only those who managed to grab the form first could proceed to the payment counter. After navigating this chaotic process, I paid the consultation fee of ₹1,500 for Dr. Shrikant. The consultation process itself was confusing and unprofessional. We were directed through multiple desks, and eventually met a staff member who asked irrelevant yes/no questions in a shouting manner, expecting immediate answers. Her role seemed limited to noting which tests—blood tests, CT scans, X-rays, ECG, or ECHO—might be needed, without any understanding of why or what the next step would be. This resulted in unnecessary costs, with the initial tests alone amounting to around ₹15,000. After the blood tests, which were normal, we waited for X-ray, CT scan, ECHO, and ECG. All these tests were completed only around 2 PM. During this time, Dr. Shrikant called and asked me to leave the long CT scan queue to meet him. After waiting an additional hour, he briefly listened to my concerns but still insisted that all scans be completed first, leaving us confused and frustrated. After finally completing the scans and waiting another two hours to receive the films, we discovered that staff gave preferential treatment to Marathi speakers and women. Adding to the frustration, Dr. Shrikant went for lunch while my father, who had been fasting for hours, had not eaten since early morning. Concerned for my father’s health, I gave him lunch myself, but the staff responded rudely, instructing us to wait until called. When we finally met Dr. Shrikant, he immediately stated that surgery was necessary without reviewing blood reports or scans, and without explaining the type of surgery required. To make matters worse, despite my repeated requests not to disclose the diagnosis, he informed my father directly that he had cancer. After this, around 5 PM, I approached the insurance department to clarify coverage. The staff tried to mislead me, insisting that cash payment was preferable over insurance, providing confusing explanations about a “new unit” and potential delays, which seemed more like an attempt to force cash payment. After this exhausting, frustrating, and demoralizing day, I chose to leave the hospital and never return. This feedback is shared to prevent others from facing the stress, confusion, mismanagement, and lack of empathy we experienced. The hospital’s disorganized systems, unprofessional staff behavior, preferential treatment, and lack of clear communication made an already difficult situation far more stressful. Patients and their families deserve proper guidance, timely support, and compassion, none of which we experienced here. I sincerely hope this feedback helps others make informed decisions and avoid unnecessary hardship.
My uncle had a liver disease, and we admitted him to this hospital because the doctor in our town told us that Midas Hospital is good for gastro problems. But when we admitted my uncle here, the doctor looked at his reports and rudely said in front of the patient that his chances of survival are very low, which scared him even more. The doctors and staff here are very unprofessional and rude.
Hospital staff here are very helpful . Nurses do take care of each and everything and do treat patient’s like their own family members. All Doctor’s are very nice and humble specially Dr Prasun Sir and Dr Farahna Ma’am always helped me throughout my treatment and do take care of even small thing’s and motivated me because of them my health is far better than it was before coming to this hospital . Thanks to every staff who take care of mine . Best hospital for gastroenterologist.
I suggest you all people from MP and Nagpur. Dont waste money and time in Midas hoapital. This hoapital is not good. I will write more comments about this hospital also in hindi.
administration staff is very poor. No one pays attention to you and your work. Intentionally takes more time to prepare your discharge document so they can bill you more. For treatment - 3 star Administration -0.5 star Cleaning - 1 star Medical staff - 3 star Management - 1.5 star
