1,840 on GoogleGalaxy hospital killed my mother. My mother had a history of high blood sugar, high blood pressure, and kidney-related issues. We consulted a neurologist at Galaxy Hospital OPD after an MRI confirmed excessive cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) accumulation in her brain. The doctor advised a CSF tap test and assured us that it was a routine, low-risk procedure, stating clearly that there was no significant risk and that she would return to normal afterward. Based on this assurance, we admitted her on 23rd December. At the time of admission, she was fully conscious, mobile, and communicating normally. She walked down the stairs of our house unassisted and spoke normally with our neighbors before leaving. The CSF removal procedure was conducted over three days—25th, 26th, and 27th December. During this period, she was conscious and communicating, though she appeared to be in pain. On the morning of 28th December, she was still responsive when I spoke to her, though there was no visible improvement. On 29th December, when we visited her, we found her in a severely deteriorated condition. She was breathing heavily through her mouth, her eyes were open, but she was not conscious or responsive. No medical staff was attending to her at that time. We immediately called the Senior Medical Officer (SMO), who was in a nearby room, but instead of attending personally, he sent a junior doctor. Shockingly, she stated that this condition was “expected after a tap test” and dismissed our concerns, assuring us that the neurologist would review her later in the evening. That evening, around 8:30 PM, the same neurologist who had seen her in OPD examined her and stated that her condition was serious and required immediate attention. Her medications were changed, and antibiotic doses were increased. It was later confirmed that she had developed a blood infection, with elevated WBC and creatinine levels. The ICU doctor informed us that it would take 48–72 hours for her to respond to treatment. On 31st December, her condition showed visible improvement. She was able to recognize us, smile, and move her eyes, though she could not speak. This gave us hope. However, on 1st January, her condition worsened again, and she stopped responding despite having her eyes open. By 2nd January, her condition deteriorated further, with no response at all. When we spoke to the ICU doctor, we were told that they could do nothing further and that the case would be handed back to the neurology team. Later that evening, the neurologist admitted that this was a failure on their part, attributing it to her underlying health conditions, and stated that the neurology team had no further role and that the ICU team was responsible for managing her infection. These contradictory and irresponsible statements left us shocked and distressed. Throughout her hospitalization, her blood sugar levels remained consistently high—around 300 mg/dL. We repeatedly raised concerns about this, but we were told it was “acceptable” given her medications. No effective corrective action was taken. In the early hours of 3rd January, at around 4:00 AM, we received a call from the hospital informing us that her oxygen levels and blood pressure had dropped significantly and that she was being put on a ventilator. At 5:00 AM, we were informed that she had suffered a cardiac arrest. CPR was administered, but she did not survive. This was not just a medical complication—it was neglect, delayed treatment, lack of accountability, and absence of proper medical supervision. We trusted the hospital and their assurances, and that trust cost us our mother’s life. They are just doing it as a business and treating the patients as their customers.
My grandmother was admitted in this hospital. Galaxy Hospital provides good medical care with supportive staff. The doctors are knowledgeable and explain the condition and treatment clearly. The nursing staff is polite and attentive, and the hospital environment is clean and well maintained. Overall, a reliable hospital with satisfactory services.
This hospital is more focused on increasing bills than treating patients. My mother was admitted to Galaxy Hospital for **gallbladder stone tests**, and unbelievably, she was kept admitted for **an entire week** only for examinations that could have easily been done without hospitalization. There was absolutely no valid reason given for this long admission. Because of this, we were forced to pay **huge bed charges, service charges, and other unnecessary expenses**. It clearly felt like a tactic to inflate the final bill rather than provide genuine medical care. The billing system is highly non-transparent. When we asked for explanations, the staff avoided giving clear answers. Families come to hospitals during difficult times, and taking financial advantage of them in this way is unacceptable. A hospital should prioritize patient care, honesty, and ethics — not profit at the cost of patients. Our experience has been extremely frustrating and financially stressful. I strongly caution others to be very careful before choosing this hospital. Would not recommend Galaxy Hospital based on this experience.
My wife had undergone gallbladder surgery here at Galaxy Hospital. Very nice hospital with polite staffs and nurshing teams. Nurshing staffs and very good and they really took very good care post surgery. Doctors and OPD teams are also very good. But Reception and ground floor housekeeping needs some work to do. Reception take too much time for admission formalities and very very slow. Most of the time it seems they are running here and there and not completing the work in hand rather gossiping. Ground floor is like a government hospital. Very dirty and toilet smells. USG, echo room beside toilets are full damp. Very bad house keeping for a private hospital. At visiting hours reception area is like a fish market. Few security guards (especially the female guards at ground floor) are very very rude with patient family members and should empathise with them. Special thanks to Barnali of TPA desk. She is really very supportive and helpful to arrange cashless procedures. Overall a good hospital but needs a lot of improvement.
