We had a very good experience at this hospital. My father underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy under Dr. Aftab Uddin on 20/12/2001. Dr. Aftab Uddin is highly professional and explained everything clearly. The surgery went smoothly and my father is recovering well. The hospital staff was supportive, caring, and attentive, and the facilities were clean and well maintained. Overall, we are very satisfied with the treatment and would highly recommend Dr. Aftab Uddin and the hospital.

This hospital appears to be trained only in handling emergency cardiac cases such as bypass or open-heart surgery, but is completely unprepared to manage patients beyond surgery or handle post-operative complications. My father underwent open-heart surgery on 14 Jan . After the surgery, he never regained consciousness. When further evaluation was done on 16 Jan, we were informed that a blood clot had developed in the brain. From that point onward, his condition continued to worsen. The hospital does not have a neurologist, and no proper neurological consultation was arranged. He was kept in the ICU on a ventilator for 18 days without proper feeding, and eventually developed a severe blood infection , which led to his death. What is most disturbing is that my father was one of the most active patients in the hospital. The surgery was done only as a preventive measure because his reports were not perfect, not because his condition was critical. However, due to negligence during surgery, calcium from the stenosed valve entered the bloodstream and reached the brain, causing clots. After this, there was no proper treatment or timely intervention. Whenever we requested consultation with another hospital or an external neurologist, we were told that “any neurologist would give the same treatment,” which clearly shows the hospital’s irresponsible attitude. An OT assistant from the hospital itself later admitted that the calcified valve was not properly cleaned during surgery, and circulation was started negligently, leading to calcium emboli reaching the brain. This hospital showed serious negligence, poor post-operative care, and lack of accountability, which resulted in irreversible brain damage and the loss of my father’s life.

This is actually the worst hospital. My mother has BP, sugar, TB, and pneumonia, due to which fluid had also accumulated in her lungs. She was facing severe breathing difficulty. Another doctor told us that she might have a heart issue, so someone informed us that Kalra Hospital has a heart specialist and that after angiography the problem would be clear. Based on this, we took my mother to Kalra Hospital. There, they directly admitted her to the ICU on Saturday evening around 7:30 PM. We were made to sit in the waiting room for hours. When we asked the doctor, he told us that according to the X-ray we had already done, she only had pneumonia and TB, which was causing her breathlessness, and there did not seem to be any heart-related problem. The next day, the nurse told us that angiography would have to be done. We had gone there using the Ayushman card. The entire Sunday passed like this. Even on Monday, my mother’s angiography was not done. In the evening, the doctor came and said that there was no heart issue at all and that her condition was due only to TB and pneumonia. After that, my mother was tortured a lot in the ICU. Most of the staff behaves very rudely and speaks negatively. One or two nurses are good, but the rest are extremely rude. They treat patients like experiments. On Tuesday, my mother was given the wrong TB medicine. When we found out and raised the issue, we were told that a new staff member had joined and did not know about it. Patients are treated very badly in this hospital. They don’t even allow family members to meet the patient. This is a very horrible hospital. In the ICU, where patients are critical, doctors are not available 24 hours. There is no fixed timing for doctor rounds. If doctors themselves are not disciplined, how can the staff be? Getting your patient admitted to this hospital means putting their life at risk. That is exactly what they do in the ICU. They do not talk politely to patients, they speak negatively in front of them, and no proper care is taken. My mother kept asking for water and was ignored. This hospital is extremely pathetic. They checked my mother’s sugar level and pierced her finger so hard that the bleeding would not stop. They were getting her MRI done despite knowing that she was on oxygen. Doctors never communicate directly with the patient or family. You never know which doctor is actually treating the patient. Doctors do not explain reports or treatment plans. At the time of discharge, they removed my mother’s cannula in such a hurry that it caused excessive bleeding. My mother stayed admitted for 5 days, and the torture she went through there—only she knows. She had severe back pain throughout the night, but no one came to check because there was no doctor present in the ICU. One nurse even told my mother that she sleeps all day and is just pretending to have pain at night. This is an extremely dirty, horrible, and disgraceful hospital.
