This is not just a medical case for us — it is the story of how *irreversible damage was done to my father’s eye due to negligence*, and how that mistake was continuously hidden instead of being addressed honestly. My father underwent cataract surgery at this hospital under **Dr. Vinod Arora**. The very next day, after bandage removal, his vision was expected to improve. Instead, he could not see clearly at all. Rather than accepting responsibility or conducting proper investigations, we were misled. We were told that the cataract was “too deep” and could not be removed in one procedure — a justification that later proved to be false. We were deliberately referred to **Devbhoomi Hospital under the pretext of further treatment. For nearly **9–10 months* , my father was called repeatedly, subjected to frequent procedures, and made to wait for hours, while the real issue remained untreated. During this time, precious months — the only window when his vision could have been saved — were lost. When we finally consulted other specialists across Dehradun, Delhi, we were given the truth that should have been disclosed from the beginning: *the retina had been damaged during the first cataract surgery*. The retinal injury caused a funnel-shaped detachment, leading to **permanent and irreversible vision loss**. This was not a complication discovered late — it was a mistake made during the initial surgery and then concealed through referrals, delays, and repeated unnecessary procedures. Had we been informed honestly at the beginning, my father might still have had a chance to save his eyesight. Today, because of this negligence, my father has **lost vision in one eye forever**. We deserve accountability. And my father deserved honesty — not blindness.
