My experience with OPD service of Disha Eye Hospital, Barrackpore is disappointing. The optometrists are lacadaisical lots and set power only on pre measured computer data without proper verification though they feigned for a manual testing which often lead to discomfortable glasses. I think they are doing business with a view to offer cheap treatment on compromising quality. Visiting this place for eye testing was a loss of time and money for me.

The doctor was professional, patient, and knowledgeable. However, my experience with the billing reception staff was extremely disappointing. The staff showed unnecessary attitude, spoke rudely, and used belittling and shaming language toward us and other patients. There was a complete lack of empathy and basic courtesy, which is unacceptable in a hospital environment where people come seeking care, often under stress. While the medical consultation was good, the behaviour of the front-desk staff seriously affects the overall experience. I hope the hospital management addresses this issue and provides proper training in professional behaviour and patient sensitivity to their reception and billing staff.

Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the extremely unorganised floor and queuing system at your Barrackpore branch, witnessed during my visit on 28/0625, at around 7:50 AM. To my surprise, there was no receptionist present at the front desk at that time. Patients, including those scheduled for operations, were left unattended and confused. In the absence of any official guidance, it was the security guard who was directing even critical patients, which is highly unprofessional and inappropriate. The entire process was chaotic and mismanaged — the environment resembled a disorganised government facility rather than a reputed private hospital. This kind of negligence and lack of basic patient management is unacceptable from an institution like Disha Eye Hospital, which claims to maintain quality and patient care standards. I strongly urge you to look into this matter and take immediate steps to: Ensure presence of trained reception staff during operational hours. Implement a clear and effective queuing system. Prevent untrained personnel like security guards from taking medical or administrative responsibilities. Patients come to you with trust — please ensure your internal systems and staff reflect that responsibility. I look forward to a prompt response and visible improvement in service delivery.
