Dr. Nihar Munsi Eye Foundation

This is one of the best eye hospital in my experience. The best in South Kolkata surely. Though the building is old but very nicely maintained & always updated. The doctors are very cordial & the staffs are helpful. I have been visiting this hospital from my teen age & now in my 30s I still prefer this hospital over any other. It is always crowded but the management is quick & efficient. I would recommend this place.

One of the best for eyes in Kolkata. The staff are very cordial and cooperative. The location is slightly in interior position but you can find through Google map or by asking locals. Various services related to eyes are provided here. This is my 4th visit and now I'm writing this review. So you can take my word. N.B: It is CGHS empanelled.

We had an excellent experience at Dr. Nihar Munsi Eye Foundation . It is one of the oldest and well reputed places for all forms of eye treatments and surgery Although it is located a little interior at Dover place it is a very peaceful setting. The day care center has been completely renovated giving it a fresh feel along with all the modern equipment for eye care . It is run by the Munshi family who are very special and take great care in maintaining the quality and standards of services offered I have taken my mother there for her regular eye check ups, she also had her glaucoma check ups and treatment done there with Dr. Sabyasachi Ghosh which was successful. Follower by her Cataract surgery which was done by Dr. Abhijit Datta (senior vitreo retinal surgeon) also went off very smoothly Apartment from a great panel of Eye doctors, surgeons and specialists we found the staff are very cordial and helpful. From the reception desk staff who are very efficient , to the support staff who guide you through the different processes so that you do not waste much time waiting. Special mention to Sourabh who put my mother at ease with her surgery and also suggested her a very good lens . The staff at the day care center Deepali and Pushpendu who ensured she was relaxed before surgery and was well attended too post eurgery Dr. Abhijit Dutta who explained the entire procedure and put her mind at ease before the surgery (my mother is very nervous about surgeries ) Ms Sumana who handled her insurance paperwork without a hitch and always ensured she was guided and well taken care of during her many visits. Even the staff at the cafeteria were warm and make sure senior citizens are comfortable We found that Dr. Nihar Munsi Eye Foundation is a very special place for personalised eye care and highly recommend it. Kudos to Mr. Shayan Munsi and family for a great experience! 5 stars :)

I went to get my annual eye check up done during covid 19 lockdown scenario. The authorities focused a lot on hygiene, specially temperature screening and hand sanitisation. Masks are a must for entry. But the social distancing measures are not upto the mark. The registration hall in front of the waiting area is congested. But I am satisfied as the process was very smooth and there was no delay in the whole process. The staffs are friendly but my ma, who was also visiting the place along with me, found that the receptionist was incompetent in managing the work. My ma was given another date for tests that was supposed to be conducted on the same date but did not happen as the receptionist doesn't listen to patients properly. But for me, the overall experience was exemplary. My doctor, Bhaskar Mukherjee, is very polite and explains everything clearly. The consultation fees is Rs 300.

I just wanted to speak to someone & book an appointment at my convenient time. But all phone numbers are busy for long. And the AI system is not suitable for my purpose.
