We admitted our daughter for heart surgery at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, and our experience was deeply distressing and disappointing. Although Dr. K. S. Iyer is widely recognized in the field of pediatric cardiac surgery, we found him to be extremely non-interactive and inaccessible. At a time when parents are emotionally vulnerable and seeking clarity and reassurance, the lack of communication was unacceptable. The situation was further worsened by the behavior of the nursing staff, who were often rude, dismissive, and appeared poorly trained. There was a clear lack of empathy and professionalism in their conduct. Basic courtesy and patient sensitivity were missing. The hospital infrastructure for infants is also highly inadequate. There are no single rooms for pediatric cardiac patients; instead, four mothers with their infants are made to share a common ward. For critically ill babies recovering from heart surgery, this arrangement is inappropriate and stressful. It strongly felt that the hospital is operating largely on the brand value of Dr. Iyer’s name, while the overall standard of care, patient communication, and support systems fall far below expectations. Our interaction with Dr. Sneh was particularly unpleasant, and most resident doctors (with very few exceptions) displayed a similar lack of compassion and professionalism. As parents, this was one of the most difficult periods of our lives, and the hospital’s approach only added to our anxiety. Based on our experience, we strongly caution other parents to carefully consider their options before choosing this hospital for their child’s treatment.

Nurse Phuspa Dogra from the Uro Daycare is extremely caring, polite, and dedicated to her work. She handles patients with great patience and kindness. Her professional attitude and calm nature make patients feel comfortable and safe. She explains procedures clearly and is always ready to help whenever needed. Her attention to hygiene and patient care is excellent. She treats everyone with respect and empathy During my time in Uro Daycare, her support made a big difference.
