The Institute of Neurosciences Kolkata is undoubtedly a premier center for neurological care, but a visit here requires some patience. The biggest takeaway is that prior appointments are absolutely essential. Even with a pre-booked slot, the hospital is extremely crowded, and we had to wait for about 1.5 hours after our scheduled time to see the doctor. It is better to arrive early and be prepared for a long wait. The doctors are highly skilled and once you get to see them, the quality of care is excellent. They are thorough and professional. The building itself feels quite old and the infrastructure could definitely use an upgrade to handle the high volume of patients more efficiently. Despite the crowd and the slightly dated facility, the medical expertise remains top-tier for anyone dealing with serious neuro issues in Kolkata.
Services seem too slow. We arrived for a CT scan( with contrast) at 9.30am , left the premises with plate at 2 pm. It's more difficult for the patient who has been starving overnight. Besides, their seating area is inadequate to handle rush hours. It's a reputed institiute with focus on neurology but it doesn't rank within top 5 in India.
