I had a wonderful experience at the Women’s Day eye camp. The entire team was extremely kind, organized, and helpful throughout the process. They took great care of my mother during her eye check-up and made sure everything was done smoothly and comfortably for her. I recently underwent Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE), and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience than the one I had with Dr. Jugal and his outstanding team. I was evaluated as a suitable candidate for RLE in the US, but since I was visiting India for a short trip, I hoped to get the procedure done during my stay. A childhood friend introduced me to Dr. Jugal, and from the very first conversation, I was genuinely impressed. His clarity, confidence, and depth of knowledge immediately put me at ease. He explained the lens options thoroughly and mentioned that while EDOF lenses seemed appropriate for my lifestyle, he would make the final recommendation after examining me. I landed in Mumbai and was at his clinic within four hours. His staff was warm, efficient, and incredibly professional. After a complete set of advanced diagnostic tests, we had a decision within 90 minutes. Between my evaluation and the surgery day, Dr. Jugal developed a customised mixed-lens strategy tailored exactly to my needs: (i) A Zeiss Lara 829 EDOF lens to give me the functional near vision I wanted (reading up to about one foot away without glasses). (ii) An Alcon Clareon Vivity EDOF lens to provide exceptional clarity at intermediate and long distances. This thoughtful combination showed me just how deeply he had considered my lifestyle and priorities. Surgery Experience: On the day of the first procedure, I arrived around 8:15 AM. His team prepared me seamlessly, dilated my eye, and ensured I was comfortable. The actual lens exchange took less than 10 minutes. After the post-operative checks, I walked out of the clinic by 10:00 AM. The improvement was immediate - the world looked brighter, sharper, and more vivid. The next morning, we repeated the process for the right eye, and I was out even earlier, around 9:45 AM. And this time, something remarkable happened: even though it was just one day after, I could already read without my glasses. Results: Because I was travelling the following week, I went in again the next day (Friday) for a follow-up. To my delight, I tested at 20/20 vision. I continued using the prescribed drops and protective eyewear, and over the last three weeks, I’ve remained spectacle-free for all regular activities. I may still need glasses to read very fine print in low light or to thread a needle, but for practical daily life, I haven’t needed glasses since the surgery. Final Thoughts: This entire experience - from the first call, to the diagnostic process, to surgery and after-care, has been absolutely outstanding. Dr. Jugal is exceptionally skilled, thoughtful, and patient-centred, and his team mirrors the same level of professionalism and kindness.
